Moritz Valentin Meran Koch (*2000) is an artist and photo director known for his cinematic photographs that explore themes of isolation, fate, longing, and identity. His work balances utopia and dystopia, merging retro-futuristic aesthetics with reflections on human connection and the search for meaning.
His creations are not AI-generated or digital montages, but meticulously staged photographs. Koch works with a process similar to the film industry, involving large teams, elaborate setups, and up to 200 extras. This collaborative approach brings people together, not just in the final exhibition, but throughout the creation of each piece.
Koch’s work has been displayed in solo exhibitions in cities such as Berlin, Frankfurt, Cologne, and Stuttgart. In 2025, he will present his first institutional solo exhibition at a museum in Germany.
